Builds

Some of the things we’ve built.

Five kinds of work, each named by the part of the business it serves. Open any one for the detail and the systems we have built or designed.

01 Every team

Copilot, ChatGPT or Claude, set up for your team's work.

A prompt library for the jobs your team repeats, a written rule on what may go near client information, and training at each person's own desk.

More about this build
Assistants

Microsoft 365 Copilot, ChatGPT or Claude, set up properly for your business.

What it is

General purpose assistants, sold per person per month. Many businesses already pay for one, often inside a licence bundle nobody read.

What it changes in the business

On its own, it changes very little. What changes the work is the setup: a prompt library for the jobs your team repeats every week, a written rule on what may go near client information, and training at people's own desks on their own tasks. Then the quote, the file note, the report and the client email stop starting from a blank page.

What it costs to run

A per person monthly licence you may already be paying, and nothing further to operate. The spend is the setup and the training, once.

02 Workflows

AI that answers from your own records.

It searches your procedures, contracts and past emails first, and each answer points back to its source so it can be checked. Built: Alma, our own product. Designed: a shortlisting engine.

More about this build
Retrieval augmented generation (RAG)

The AI searches your own records first and answers from them, quoting where each part came from. The search step keeps the answer tied to your records.

What it is

Your procedures, contracts, records, past correspondence and notes are prepared so the system can search them by meaning, not only by exact words. Ask a question or set a task, and it finds the relevant passages and writes from them, pointing back to each source.

What it changes in the business

Your team stops hunting through folders, shared drives and old inboxes for something somebody already wrote down. The answer arrives with its source attached, so it can be checked rather than trusted. When the answer is not in your records, a system built properly says so.

The honest limit

It is only as good as the records you give it. Feed it procedures that are three years out of date and it will quote them with complete confidence. Someone has to decide what goes in, keep it current, and set who may see what.

What it costs to run

Ongoing but small: storage for the indexed records, plus a usage charge per question. The effort sits at the front, in choosing and preparing the material.

Designed · a shortlisting engine, for a recruitment firm

Given a role, the engine is designed to search the firm's own candidate records, including people nobody thought to search for that role, and lays out a shortlist 30 to 50 deep.

Each line on it is a quote from the candidate's record, a quote from a dated interview note that names who wrote it, or fixed wording such as "Not named in the CV". Where the AI gives a reason, every quote in it is checked word for word against the field it came from, and one that does not match is held back and flagged for a person. It rejects nobody. The recruiter reads the evidence and decides.

Built · Alma

Alma, our own product, answers questions from the Owners Corporations Act 2006 and cites the section it used, so the answer can be checked against the Act.

Alma's reply panel in Outlook: a draft reply to a sample owner's email about a fee notice, citing sections 30 and 29 of the Owners Corporations Act 2006.

03 Operations and sales

A CRM or system built around how your team works.

The work lives in one place instead of a spreadsheet per person. AI can read, sort and file inside it, and a person approves what it did. Built: Summed, our own bookkeeping software.

More about this build
Tool use

When the off the shelf system does not fit how your team works, we build one around your process, and give the AI tools and permission to act inside it.

What it is

A system built for your process: your records, your steps, and a view for each role, signed in with the accounts your team already has. Inside it, AI can be given tools to do a task, such as reading a document, sorting a transaction into the right account or filing a record, and a person checks and approves what it did.

What it changes in the business

The work lives in one place instead of a spreadsheet per person, and an update made once reaches everyone who needs it. Repetitive handling becomes a review rather than a keyboard job.

What it costs to run

Hosting, in your own cloud account or on a platform we run for you, and a small charge per document or transaction where AI does the handling. There is no seat licence to buy for people who barely touch it.

Built · Summed

Summed, our own bookkeeping software for Australian sole traders and small teams, works on one rule: the software reads, sorts and files, and the owner reviews.

Sample Summed dashboard with three tiles, Today's income $2,847, Expenses $1,204 and Net profit $1,643, above a bar chart.

04 Back office

Whole workflows run by AI, with a person signing off.

One AI agent drafts, one checks the draft against your rules, and one files it. A person approves the steps that matter. Built: Nexus, the platform Anum runs on.

More about this build
Agent orchestration

Several AI workers, each with one defined job, handing work down a chain, with a person approving the parts that matter.

What it is

One agent drafts. One checks the draft against your rules. One files it and tells the person who needs to know. Runs can be logged, so you can see what ran, what it used and what it decided, and a person sits at the approval points you choose.

What it changes in the business

It suits work with many steps, across several systems, that only one person knows end to end. The sequence is written down and run the same way every time, so it no longer falls over when that person is on leave.

The honest limit

This is the most involved of the five and the easiest to get wrong. It only makes sense once the process itself is stable, because automating a broken process repeats its mistakes.

What it costs to run

The most of the five, because several models work on every job and a person still spends time approving. It pays its way on high volume repeatable work and rarely anywhere else. We will tell you which you have.

Built · Nexus

Nexus is the platform Anum runs its own delivery on. Each agent has one defined job. Scheduled reports run on their own, and an agent cannot start another agent's work from a card; a person sends it.

05 Marketing

Campaigns and outreach at volume, in your voice.

Briefs go in and drafts come out checked against your voice and rules. A person approves before anything goes out. Built for a recruitment firm: an email engine for past candidates and a content platform.

More about this build
Content operations

Briefing, drafting, checking and sending, run as one pipeline.

What it is

Your voice, your claims and your rules are written down once, in a form the system can check against. Briefs go in one end. Drafts come out the other, already checked, for a person to edit and approve before anything is sent.

What it changes in the business

Marketing stops depending on who has a spare afternoon. What goes out sounds the same whoever produced it, and it goes to the right people, because the list rules are written down too.

What it costs to run

A usage charge per piece or per send, plus the time of the person who edits and approves it.

Built · a reactivation email engine, for a recruitment firm

We built an email engine to write to past candidates already in the firm's recruitment system, to reconnect with them.

It only sends to people cleared to be contacted: inside the consent cut-off the firm sets, not on the suppression list, and not marked do not contact, each checked at the moment of sending. Before a batch goes, a recruiter reads who it selected and approves its exact wording and a sample of the emails it produced, and once approved the wording cannot be swapped. Each email goes out in the firm's name, says only what the firm's record says about the person, and carries an unsubscribe that works without a login.

It is set up in the firm's own AWS account, in Australia, so the engine and the data it works on sit in an account the firm owns.

Built · a content platform, for the same recruitment firm

A content platform we built for the same firm has a voice profile for each author, so a piece reads like the person it goes out under rather than like a model, and a brief can ask it to research the latest in the firm's industry.

How the builds on this page are checked

What is tested on four of the six systems here, and how.

Summed
By default, the deploy script runs more than 2,000 automated tests before a release ships, and stops if one fails.
Alma
The deploy script for Alma's server runs its test suite the same way.
Shortlisting engine and email engine
Both were written from a specification first. They share a test suite, which we run by hand before each version is checked.

On a Rollout: testing with your team, then training

One team runs the new workflow on live work before anyone else gets it. We train your staff by working beside them on their own jobs. Then we measure the result against the baseline taken in Discovery, in your own numbers, and roll it out to the rest.

The Rollout guarantee and its condition are on How it works.

What you keep

What we build for you is yours: the automations, the prompt libraries, the policy, the configuration and the documentation. Our own method and templates stay ours, and where they are inside something we build for you, you get a permanent licence to use them in your business. Where it runs, and whose account it sits in, is agreed in writing before anything is switched on.

Most businesses need one or two of these, not five. Which ones, and in what order, is what Discovery is for.

If you are earlier than that, what this work looks like in a Melbourne business and how it works are the two to read first.

Not sure which of the five fits your work? Email hello@anum.com.au.
