About Anum

Daniel Esteban founded Anum in Melbourne to build software and AI for the people who actually do the work. Before Anum, he spent years working inside Australian businesses, and the way Anum works comes from what he saw there.

Most software is built for the average user. Anum builds for the real one.

The pattern was always the same. The software people depended on was made for an imagined average user, not for the real workflows or the people doing the work. It was never designed for the owners corporation manager fielding forty queries on a quiet Tuesday, or for the sole trader reconciling the books at eleven at night.

Most of Daniel's time in those years went into getting people to use something new. A firm-wide changeover off a legacy system taught him that the technology is rarely the hard part. The harder part is helping people change how they work and trust a new tool.

What counts as success

An implementation has worked when a business outcome has improved, in time, cost, accuracy or risk, and the new way of working has held after the rollout finished.

People first. AI is how we help them.

Every system Anum builds is judged on two things: whether a business outcome improved, and whether the people doing the work are better off for it. AI is a means to both. It is never the point.

People are at the centre of the work

That means your team, your customers and the businesses you deal with. We build around how they actually work, and we aim for systems they are still using, and doing the job better with, a month later.

AI should make people stronger

The aim is more time for the work people are best at, and real support with the parts they find hardest. We do not build to replace the people doing the job.

We use AI responsibly, and in the open

Early in every engagement, we write down how AI will be used in your business and how your data will be handled. A person stays responsible for every decision that matters, and every system is built so they can check what the AI has done.

We are honest about the limits

AI gets things wrong, sometimes with confidence. We test each build on work like yours before anyone relies on it, and we tell you where it should not be used.

The future we are working towards

We want businesses where every person can use AI well, where the work that needs a person gets more of their time, and where nobody is left behind by the change.

I started Anum because of what I saw working inside Australian businesses. The software was rarely built for the work people actually did, and with anything new, most of the effort went into helping people change how they worked and trust it. Anum is set up to do both parts: put AI where the numbers say it will pay, build it into the workflow your people already use, and train them on their own work. Sometimes the honest answer is that AI is the wrong tool for the problem, and I would rather tell you that than build it anyway. If your business has outgrown the generic tools, or you have a problem worth solving properly, tell me about it.
